Robert was recently awarded the 2011 Gold Award for Best Travel Feature by The Parenting Publications of America, as well as taking the 2011 Silver Award for Best Columnist/Reviewer. 

He currently serves as the travel editor for Third Coast Digest, offering original feature stories and photography, as well as orchestrating the efforts of an international group of contributing writers, photographers and illustrators. He also convenes the Traveler’s Roundtable on Public Radio’s Lake Effect where he discusses a variety of destinations and reads excerpts from his published travel essays.

Previously, Robert served as the editor-in-chief of Milwaukee Home & Fine Living Magazine, a monthly publication that showcased the best in architecture, design, fine arts, travel, performing arts, and food & drink. 

Rob is also the former head writer & editor for Lemon Magazine, the international pop-culture publication that he helped found. As the voice of the magazine, he wrote the narrative language throughout, and authored dozens of feature articles on art, pop culture, music, film and design. He also conceived and conducted interviews with such luminaries as John Hurt, Malcolm McDowell, and Leelee Sobieski, and wrote profiles of Damian Loeb, Bill Murray, Jessica Craig-Martin, Guy Peellaert, and others. As editor, he recruited high-profile writers and illustrators to the publication, edited the work of contributors, and created framing concepts for each issue. 

While in Los Angeles, Rob helped create the critically acclaimed periodical GUM Magazine, where he served as associate editor and was that publication’s most prolific writer, contributing essays on popular culture, short fiction, and conceiving and conducting interviews with giants such as Ray Bradbury and Fred Willard.

Rob's screenwriting has been honored at The Austin Heart of Film Festival and The Chicago International Film Festival. Recent work has been nationally syndicated and appeared in The Chicago Tribune, Newsday, Metroparent Magazine, The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, Alcoholmanac, Milwaukee Home & Fine Living Magazine, Lemon Magazine, and The Book of the Prague Marathon.
